Woodland Olive Egger Hatching Eggs

$5.00Price

What is a Woodland Olive Egger? It is our Olive Egger breeding project that has spanned many generations! Our unique Olive Egger line started out as crosses between our dark brown egg laying Marans and a blue egg layer, resulting in beautiful birds that lay olive-colored eggs, first generation. We have continued to add in more blue, dark brown, and speckled egg genetics into our Our Olive Egger lines! Our Woodland Olive Eggers are 2nd-7th (and up) generation olive eggers, and have varying feather patterns. Some birds have more Whiting genetics and are a lighter framed bird, some have a little bit of a crest from our Legbar genetics, some have light feathering on their legs from Marans genetics, and many have a collar from their Welsummer genetics. With the Marans genetics thoroughly added to this flock, many chicks hatch out black or blue, as well. They are all a surprise waiting to hatch! We aren't sure if the best part is waiting for the appearance of the chicks that hatch, or waiting those months for them to start laying their Mossy, Speckled Olive, Seafoam Green with Speckles, or Earthen Colored Eggs! Many lay eggs with a heavy bloom over them! You can read more about our heavily bloomed "Soft Sage Layers" on our Instagram page. They are included in our Woodland Olive Egger hatching eggs!

Living in the PNW, we have a forest full of beautiful trees, plants, mosses and lichens surrounding us. The foliage grows in varying earthen shades, and beautiful patterns emerge as they grow. It seems like a good description for our OE layers. The unique eggs they lay remind us of the beauty and variety of the woods that surround our home.
