Why should I choose Cluck and Quack Farm for purchasing chicks and hatching eggs instead of another farm or hatchery?
This is totally dependent upon you and your goals for your new flock members. :) When deciding whom to add flock members from for our lines there are multiple factors that come into play. I will share a few that I can think of!
The farm or hatchery and the way they raise their flocks is an important factor for us. Here is a link to our About page that shares how and why we raise the birds the way we do. https://www.cluckandquack.com/our-flocks(https://www.cluckandquack.com/our-flocks)
Of course, the breeding of potential new members is also a big factor. With each of the breeds, or fun color layers, we raise, we have a breeding focus - like eggs with speckles, feather patterns, temp, and more. Here is a link to more info about our breeds for you to look at from our Breeds page. Check it out! https://www.cluckandquack.com/items(https://www.cluckandquack.com/items)
We also explore our options - which it sounds like you are as well. :) We encourage you to do your research and choose the best new additions for your precious flocks!
Please note this about us: We would love to share our cherished lines with you if you choose! However, whatever you choose, we support it! Part of the joy of raising chickens is figuring out what we like best and what works for us - our little farm tries to be as low pressure as possible...we all have enough of that these days, don't we! If not this time, please keep us in mind the next time you are ready to add to your flock! Also, please feel free to explore our website and blog! Don't forget to subscribe to our monthly email for updates, as well!
Thank you for reading and taking an interest in our small farm and hatchery!
What are your hours?
At our small farm, we are dedicated to caring for our farm and animals 24/7. We do not operate on set business hours as everything, from collecting eggs to lovingly preparing chicks for shipment, is done by us personally. While we do not have a dedicated customer support service, we strive to answer emails and inquiries in a timely manner. However, it's important to note that as a family-run farm, we also prioritize caring for our family and other animals on the farm. Please remember to check our FAQs or the many pages on our website before asking a question that is already covered. Thank you for understanding and respecting our time.
Can I schedule a farm tour or visit?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer visits to our farm due to NPIP (National Poultry Improvement Plan) biosecurity regulations. To maintain our NPIP certification, we must restrict visitors to prevent the spread of diseases among our cherished flocks. This restriction is especially important given recent avian influenza outbreaks. We understand your enthusiasm to see our heritage and unique egg color flocks of chickens, ducks, and quail in person, but for the health and safety of our birds, no exceptions can be made. Additionally, during the busy summer months, I meet with many local customers for order pickups, and I wouldn't be able to accommodate every tour request even if we could. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to helping us ensure the health and safety of our flocks. Thank you!

What is NPIP and why is it important?
NPIP stands for the National Poultry Improvement Plan, a program aimed at controlling certain poultry diseases to improve poultry and poultry products. Cluck and Quack Farm is NPIP certified, which means our birds have been tested and are free from certain diseases, ensuring healthy and disease-free flocks. By being NPIP certified, we prioritize the health and welfare of our birds and adhere to strict biosecurity measures. Additionally, without our NPIP certification, we would be unable to ship chicks.
Where is Cluck and Quack Farm located, and what types of poultry do you specialize in?
We are located in Orofino, Idaho. We are a small family-owned poultry farm and hatchery specializing in breeding heritage breeds and unique egg color flocks of chickens, as well as ducks and quail.
We offer nationwide shipping of hatching eggs and chicks, allowing customers across the country to access our lovely lines. Additionally, we provide started poultry locally for those in the Orofino area, supporting new poultry keepers with healthy, young birds ready to join their flocks.
