Looking for some fun and flashy additions to your flock? All that know me well know that I love Leghorn chickens and the contrast that their pretty white eggs add to my cartons and egg baskets. All of us can also appreciate pretty birds, of course! The combination of beauty and egg laying efficiency with our Exchequer Leghorns makes me adore this breed all the more so! As of the 2026 hatching season, we are proud to share these stunning and unique birds from our Exchequer Leghorn line with those of you who also love Leghorns and those lovely white eggs!
Exchequer Leghorns have striking black and white mottled feathers, which sets them apart from other Leghorn varieties. They are definitely a stand out in our flocks! Not only are they beautiful, but they also are fantastic layers, consistently providing medium to large, white eggs. I find them to be less flighty compared to white or brown Leghorns. Although they may not lay eggs quite as large as traditional white Leghorns, these impressive birds more than make up for the difference in egg size with their striking appearance and comparatively more easy going temperament, in my opinion. True to the nature of Leghorns, these lovely birds are active, wonderful foragers, rarely go broody, are great layers, and have a great feed to egg conversion rate! Our Exchequers are a special and charming option for anyone looking to add some variety to their flock and egg baskets!

As neat as that little fact is, please be aware that we have no way of guaranteeing the sex of your straight run chicks. Cluck & Quack Farm will not replace or offer compensation for straight run breeds that grow up to be male. If you would like to get hens only, we suggest you purchase our breeds that guarantee female chicks.
