Whiting True Blue Chicks

$17.00Price

🐣 These Chicks are available to pre-order from our upcoming March 2026 Hatch! They will ship or be picked up the week of March 16th, 2026! Thank you!🐣

Whitings are our favorite Blue eggers! They are a bit more flighty than other blue egg laying breeds, but they make up for that in so many other ways! They have clean legs and occasionally have a muff, but not always. Their feather patterns and colors vary. They are a lighter framed, standard sized bird with a great feed to egg conversion. Whiting hens are consistent layers of a large powder blue egg. Although they take a few months after laying before their eggs reach full size, their pretty color and impressive productivity make them a favorite in our flocks!

With our WTB line, you can expect to add a stunning pop of color to your egg basket! Our line has exclusively been bred from purebred Whiting True Blues, known for their homozygous blue egg genes developed by Dr. Tom Whiting. Please read more about the WTB name below. Our breeding focus is on those large, lovely blue eggs. We have continued to improve the color and are proud of the beautiful hues our WTBs produce! There is something egg-specially fun about collecting blue eggs from the nesting boxes!

  • Fun fact about Straight Run chicks:

Did you know that, unlike mammals, the hen determines the sex of their offspring in chickens? Hens are the ones with the two different chromosomes! As neat as that little fact is, please be aware that we have no way of guaranteeing the sex of your straight run chicks. Cluck & Quack Farm will not replace or offer compensation for straight run breeds that grow up to be male. If you would like to get hens only, we suggest you purchase our breeds that guarantee female chicks.
