Whiting True Blues

When it comes to beautiful blue eggs, Whiting True Blues set the standard. They are a bit more flighty than other blue egg laying breeds, but are not at all as flighty as a leghorn. They have clean legs, occasionally have a beard or muff, but not always. Their feather patterns and colors vary. They are a lighter framed, standard sized bird with a great feed to egg conversion. The roosters are gorgeous with their elegant frame and long tail feathers!
Whiting hens are consistent layers of a large powder-blue egg. They take a couple of months after laying before their eggs are bigger, but have had the prettiest and largest blue eggs of any breed we have raised. With our WTB line, you can expect to add a stunning pop of color to your egg basket. Our breeding focus is on those large, brilliant blue eggs. We have continued to improve the color and are proud of the beautiful hues our WTBs produce.
Please Note: The Whiting True Blue and Whiting True Green breeds of chickens were developed by renowned poultry geneticist, Dr. Tom Whiting. Murray McMurray Hatchery holds the exclusive rights to the genetic lines for both breed lines, as well as the rights to the names of both. Cluck & Quack Farm has the written permission needed to use the names of both breeds.
