I am so eggcited to finally share our Tolbunt Polish flock with you! These lovely birds are just one of the two white egg laying breeds that I have always enjoyed throughout the years. Yes, I have always had Leghorns and Polish chickens in my flocks! While the Leghorns impress me with their egg laying awesomeness, my love for Polish chickens has been due to their sweet nature and fluffy tops! So sweet and cute!

Polish chickens are a smaller standard sized breed. Their crests can block their vision at times, so they generally do not do well free ranging. This can also result in them getting startled now and then, although I consider them to be a calm breed. Some folks like to trim their crests if they are not going to be used for exhibition, but I have yet to do that myself. I find that they mingle well within a mixed flock, but generally are not at the top of the pecking order. They are inquisitive and sweet, in my opinion!

The striking mottled coloration and elegant crests are what first caught my eye with the Tolbunt Polish breed. It took us some time to find and then secure our Tolbunt flock. Due to the rarity of this specific coloring of this Polish breed, extra care needed to be taken to ensure that we not only had nice lines, but that they would pass along the qualities we love so much about these beauties! The guys and gals in our flock sport a big crest, are smooth feathered, have clean legs, and sometimes have a beard. Hens lay white small/medium sized eggs, and rarely go broody. The chicks come in variations of white, brown, reddish, and black fluff and grow into beautiful crested birds with mottled colored feathers.

Our Tolbunt Polish are truly a stand out with their fluffy feather crests and eye-catching, mottled feathers. Our breed focus with our line is continuing the beautifully mottled coloring and large crests along with an increase in egg size.
