Speckled Olive Eggers

How fun is a green egg with speckles? Our Speckled Olive Egger line are first generation olive eggers. The chicks are SO CUTE. Chicks have chipmunk stripes and range in color between light brown to red shades. These hens are great layers, laying large green speckled eggs 5+ times a week.
When collecting hatching eggs for our incubator or to share, I only select eggs with heavy speckling. There is a high chance these Olive Eggers will lay speckled eggs, however the amount of speckling varies for each individual hen. The featured picture is from our 2024 SOEs. As you can see, not only does each hen lay varied amounts of speckles, each time she lays the speckling varies!
These elegant birds are lighter framed and can range in temperment from calm to somewhat flighty. Of course, as with all chickens, the more you give them treats and interact with them when they are little, the more calm they will likely be as adults. They have a pea comb and clean legs. Both the roosters and hens often have a collar and red tones, but not always. Their color patterns can vary quite a bit!
Between the elegance of these birds and the fun speckled eggs they lay, Speckled Olive Eggers are a must-have for my egg rainbow!
