Clucky Greenies

Our Clucky Greenies are only raised here on our farm, a Cluck and Quack exclusive! The females are either an iridescent black or a soft blue color. They are eggcelent producers of many large green eggs in shades from light blueish green to green. Many of the hens also produce a light "spackling" over their eggs, as you can see in the featured picture! Being a lighter bird, they have a nice feed to egg conversion rate. They are flighty and excellent foragers. Being very aware of their surroundings, they are great for free ranging. The males have a barred or broken-barred feather pattern in either blue or black.
Early on I knew that I wanted to create a fun egg layer that was also identifiable at hatch male from female. Clucky Greenies are just that! They are our sexlinked green egger. Sexlinked chickens are a mix between two purebred chickens that can be distinguished male from female at hatch for the first generation. This sexlinked trait will not be passed on.
Although our children were small when they came up with the name for our very own sexlinked chicken breed, I still can imagine their eyes lighting up in excitement when they finally came up with the perfect name, Clucky Greenies! Raising our flocks and farm along with our children has been the most wonderful experience of all of our farmish things. Our Clucky Greenie hens fill up our egg baskets for our eating egg customers! We are proud to share these lovely layers and the beautiful eggs they produce.
